How to contribute to this library

Summary

Here’s a summary of the most important rules in the library:

  • In order to write articles, you’ll have to register (click the Login button on the bottom of this page)
  • Once you are logged in, you may add, edit or request articles.
  • Before you start writing, please read about how to format articles. If you have content, but do not want to use or learn the Wiki Syntax for proper formatting texts, just give me (Flow) the complete article and I will apply the Wiki Syntax to it.
  • Feel free to try out things at the Playground.
  • Please use the Templates to write articles!
  • There is no expected length of the articles. If you aren’t sure if your article is too short, just post the article. You can always edit and add things to it later!
  • If you aren’t sure about the what and how simply ask on the Library Forum.

Copyrights!

Please don’t use any copyrighted information on the articles of this library.
(short quotes are okay, as long as you clearly mark them as such and name/link the source)

Editing an Existing Article

All green links lead to existing articles, all red links allow you to create a new article. In order to edit an existing article, you’ll have to be logged in. Then just click the Edit button and edit away. Please only edit something if you can improve it!

Once again: Don’t worry, edited articles can always be restored, as well as deleted articles. You can’t do anything wrong actually :)

If you create a new article, please use one of the templates below.

Adding an Article

Most articles in this library are grouped. For example all the glossary entries are grouped under the glossary group.

Example 1:

You want to add new article to the glossary. First go to the glossary overview, and edit the page to include a new link to the (not yet existing) article.

 [[glossary:orange-yellow effect filter]]

Then, after saving the glossary overview, click on the newly created link to the article and you’ll be prompted to create the article. The easiest way to create an article is to copy the glossary template and paste it into the new article, then edit it.

Example 2:

You want to add the Article Camera-Filters (like UV-Filter or Polarizer) to the Library: The main Article-Link is Equipment, our Article then is [[Equipment:Filters]] - Filters.

Please adhere to the given grouping, because this way all the articles are structured in Topic → Article and are easier to keep track of.

Uploading images

If you want to upload images, you need to use http://www.imageshack.us or any direct image hoster, because you cannot upload pictures directly. This will be done by Flow after the article is complete.

Templates for various article types

There are a few templates for different types of articles that can help you adding new articles without much effort:

Questions?

If you have further questions about how to edit or create pages, please contact user Flow on the tips from the top floor forum, and he will gladly help you with anything regarding the wiki. Chris is also available to answer questions.
