After a massive wave of automated comment spam on this blog over the last weeks (sometimes hundreds of spam comments per day, and you don’t really want to know the stuff it was advertising…) and lots of manual work to deal with the whole mess (thanks Bexxi for your great help there!) I have now installed a new spam protection plugin, called Spam Karma 2.
From the Spam Karma web site:
“Spam Karma 2 (SK2) is an anti-spam plugin for the WordPress blogging platform. It is meant to stop all forms of automated Blog spam effortlessly, while remaining as unobtrusive as possible to regular commenters.”
I have done a few tests and it looks like Spam Karma is as unobtrusive as it claims to be, but if you run into any issues while submitting a comment here, please let me know via email.
And don’t worry, if a comment of yours doens’t go through right away, there is still a good chance that I will see it in my daily Spam Digest and recover it from the bad karma list 🙂
