FUNDRAISER: First direct help just went to Nepal

Sherpas

We have just sent out the first direct help to the family of our guide from 2014. Her name is Chhokpa Sherpa. Her parents’ house in their village was destroyed by the earthquake and they needed funds to buy food, water and repair materials. Chhokpa will pick up the money through Western Union (currently 0% fees to Nepal) and get it to her parents and a few others in need. We have sent about 300 USD worth in Nepalese Rupees (NPR), coming straight out of the fundraiser ebook sales.

From left to right on the picture: Pemba Sherpa (Chhokpa’s father), Pasang Lhamu Sherpa (sister), Kanchhi Sherpa (mother), Furwajangmi Sherpa (youngest sister), Nuru sherpa (brother).

At this point let us just extend a big thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraiser so far. If you haven’t already, please consider buying our ebook (90 photos from Nepal from 2009 to 2014, choose your own price level, all proceeds go to the local help organization DZI and individuals in need.
